Youth Advisory Committee

The Youth Advisory Committee will play an important role informing Council on youth-related issues and empowering young people to make positive contributions to our Ku-ring-gai community.

The Committee will provide a voice for young people to Council, participate in community projects, promote youth activities and develop valuable skills and connections. The Committee will meet quarterly to discuss a range of relevant topics affecting young people in the area.

Application process

The Committee will have a maximum of 15 young people aged 14-24 years. We will seek a range of diverse members, including gender, cultural background, languages spoken and life experience.

To apply, young people must demonstrate:

  • They live or study in the Ku-ring-gai LGA (Local Government Area).
  • They can work in a team and participate in group discussions.
  • They have the capacity and motivation to commit to the Committee for 12 months.
  • They have a genuine interest in contributing to the community.
