Beginners and intermediate students are instructed in the fundamentals of this traditional painting method, learning techniques that lead to larger projects.
You will be introduced to new techniques so you build your skills. Students will learn about paint materials, the fundamental skills of tone and composition, different ways of applying paint, organising your palette and colours and how to move on to larger individual projects. This course is for beginners and intermediate students.

OIL COLOURS
Blue (Ultramarine and Pthalo)
40 ml size tubes. Suggested brands: AS, Winton, Georgian, Art Prism, Reeves, W&N….
BRUSHES: Stiff Synthetic - Filbert shaped. Sizes –1, 2, 6, 8, and 12.
PALETTE: A3 size palette or 30 x 40cm white rectangle or kidney-shaped wood.
PAINTING KNIFE: Diamond shaped size 100/110.
ODOURLESS SOLVENT: 500ml. RAG: soft cloth
WILLOW CHARCOAL: Two thin sticks.
PAINTING SUPPORTS: Canvas boards, stretched canvas, oil sketch paper, primed panel.
YOU WILL NEED SOMETHING TO PAINT ON FOR WEEK 1 – 30 x 40 cm canvas board or stretched canvas. Best price at $2 shops, Officeworks, Kmart, Bunnings, Lincraft, Spotlight (these shops also have good inexpensive brushes)
