Ku-ring-gai fungi walk with Sofia Zvolanek

During these walks residents will be guided by local naturalist and Ku-ring-gai Environmental Citizen of the Year, Sofia Zvolanek. Sofia is highly experienced in recording wildlife using the iNaturalist platform, with our local fungi being one of her areas of specialism.

Join us on a walk around one of the Ku-ring-gai's reserves and learn more about our native fungi and their amazing lifecycles from a local expert.

The first 15-30 minutes will be an introduction to the event and covering the basics of iNaturalist for those unfamiliar. The remainder of the event will be a walk on the hunt for fungi.

What to bring: a phone or digital device with a camera capable of accessing the internet. The event will be outside on uneven surfaces so wear walking boots and appropriate outdoor clothing.

The event will still run in light rain. Under more extreme weather conditions the event will be cancelled and ticket holders notified 24 hours before event.

Locations:

- 5th & 6th April: Rofe Park, Turramurra. Meet at 2nd Turramurra Scout Hall, adj. to 14 Kate Street, Turramurra.

- 13th April: Rofe Park, Bradley Reserve, Step Track, Turramurra. Meet at Cove Street entrance, 22 Cove Street, Turramurra.

- 27th April: Sheldon Forest walking track, Turramurra. Meet at the 1st Turramurra Scout Hall, 28 Warragal Road, Turramurra.
