Join accomplished artist, Kim Sotheren to refine your mastery of colour and composition as you find expression through this popular paint medium.

Kim provides creative learning experiences to find your own distinct painting style, working with each student to achieve their unique personal goals.

Kim will  introduce you to techniques and colours that you may not have worked with before, for example, finding colours to make blacks that don't turn your rich colour into the muted shades. 

You may choose to work with realism or expressively - a visual travel exploring values, shapes, movment, textural effects - all to be discussed within your compositional works. 

Individual teaching covers mixed media, medium, colour mixing, composition, observation of form and depth and research.

Kim offers an introduction to one portrait painting class, graphic or realistic study. Students are encouraged to develop self-expressive works in a fun, relaxed atmosphere.
