Clay hand building and wheel throwing

A beginner-friendly class where you can develop new wheel throwing and/or hand-building skills in a relaxed and supportive environment. 

You'll be guided through fun new projects each term and your tutor will provide plenty of demonstrations of different surface treatments and ceramic techniques to help you create your masterpieces!

Clay can be purchased from the tutor at your class.

Alternatively, if you would like to book an additional course in the same term, please contact the Art Centre for a discount code to apply to your second course booking. Note that this discount code cannot be used in addition to the combined Term 1 & 2 discounted rate.

Materials

(New students please check the class is running before purchasing materials)

• Tools.
• Wire.
• Sponge.
• Rubber kidney.
• Paddle.
• Modelling tools.
• Cutting tools such as needle or knife.

Glazes

Glazes or under glazes as needed to suit artwork (will discuss throughout the term)

Clay (Payment for clay with credit card only. No cash will be accepted).

Clay body to suit the artwork (will discuss throughout the term)

Note: This is a starter kit of basic hand building tools. It will expand throughout the course depending on the direction of each student’s artworks.

PLEASE NOTE THAT COVERED FOOTWEAR IS REQUIRED.
