Dog walking
Dogs and cats are not allowed in the Ku-ring-gai Wildflower Garden. Monitoring cameras are installed to observe native wildlife and any incidents of roaming dogs.
Guide dogs may be taken into reserves when assisting their owners but must be on a leash at all times.
Dogs are permitted at St Ives Showground, which is adjacent to the Wildflower Garden.
Why are dogs and cats banned?
Dogs and cats are not allowed in areas where there are conservation and bio-banking agreements, National Parks or places where they may harm native or threatened species and their habitats. These areas include the Ku-ring-gai Flying-fox Reserve in Gordon, the Ku-ring-gai Wildflower Garden in St Ives and Browns Forest and the Dalrymple-Hay Nature Reserve in St Ives.
