Nature School
Nature School provides an opportunity for home school families to add nature play, outdoor skills, sustainability and environmental awareness in their learning activities. The Nature School program is run by experienced environmental educators, with content linked to NSW Science and Technology and Geography K-6 syllabus.
Activities range from storytelling, fauna encounters, exploring urban bushlands and child led independent play with a focus on developing self-confidence, problem solving skills and risk management in an outdoor environment.
This program is suitable for primary aged children. Children may be dropped off however a parent or carer is required to stay for the program for children aged five or under and for children with special needs. Younger siblings may attend however remain the responsibility of their parent or carer.

Nature School FAQs
What should I bring?
Please pack lunch, snacks and water in a backpack. Please also wear clothes appropriate for conditions including hat and enclosed shoes.
Do you have weekly sessions or sessions available on a different day of the week?
Additional sessions will be offered based on demand. Alternatively, if you have a group of 12 children, we can arrange additional activities.
Do you offer sessions for older students?
Our program is suitable for up to 16yrs.
Can I stay with my child?
Yes however it is It is beneficial for the child’s learning if you don’t stay especially for older children. A parent or carer is required to stay for the program for children aged five or under and for children with special needs. Younger siblings may attend however remain the responsibility of their parent or carer and will not be able to participate in all activities.
Where can we find the term outline or individual program outline with syllabus links?
The current schedule of sessions is available above. Syllabus links will be emailed to all attendees.
Will we be based at one location all day?
No – we will be walking around the Ku-ring-gai Wildflower Garden throughout the day.
Will the program run if it is raining?
Yes – we can learn in nature during all conditions. Please pack a good raincoat and suitable footwear.
How much does a session cost?
$35 per child ($10 for younger siblings (non-school aged), no charge for accompanying adult or baby in arms).
