Seeing Red
10 February to 31 March
Seeing Red invites you to explore the vibrant, symbolic colour red through the eyes of Ku-ring-gai Art Centre’s students and tutors.
The colour appears frequently in our everyday lives and shapes cultural identities often carrying different meanings depending on the context. Red can represent good fortune, prosperity and joy. It is also a colour that we often see in our natural world and represents beauty in nature through autumn leaves, red tones of flowers and the striking and defining colour in the landscape of Australia’s centre. In many ways, red surrounds us, subtly evoking emotion, capturing our attention and firing up festivities.
The exhibition is open to the public on weekdays from 9am to 4pm, excluding public holidays. Selected artworks will be available for purchase throughout the exhibition.
