Local Citizen of the Year Awards
Each year on Australia Day we recognise the outstanding work of our community’s unsung heroes with the Local Citizen of the Year Awards.
These awards honour people and organisations who generously give their time and effort to help others and improve the Ku-ring-gai community.
The Local Citizen of the Year Awards aim to recognise residents of Ku-ring-gai who have demonstrated excellent citizenship and contribution to the people of Ku-ring-gai or the wider community.
Australian Citizenship ceremonies
Ku-ring-gai Council has recommenced our monthly Citizenship Ceremonies. These ceremonies are held in the Council Chambers. There are currently no online ceremonies available.
When the Department of Home Affairs have approved your application they will inform you by letter. You must then wait for the Department of Home Affairs to advise Ku-ring-gai Council of the date and time of the ceremony which they have allocated you.
Council will advise you of the date and time of your ceremony and other relevant information via your email address. Please ensure all details are up to date in your Immi account.
Ku-ring-gai Council will invite you to attend a Australian Citizenship Ceremony based on your approval date. Please note that as per your approval letter from the Department of Home Affairs the ceremony can take place up to 6 months from your approval date.
If you have been approved but have not received a letter from Council, and you have any enquiries about the date of your ceremony you can call the Citizenship Information Line on 131 880.
