The NSW State Government, not council, is responsible for the State Significant Development system.
Information for applicants or potential applicants
All inquiries by applicants or potential applicants, in relation to State Significant Development, should be made directly to the NSW Department of Housing, Planning and Infrastructure.
This includes inquiries in relation to:
- What is considered State Significant development.
- How to lodge applications.
- Application fees.
- How State Significant Development is assessed and determined.
Council has not been provided with a central contact point within the NSW State Government for State Significant Development inquiries.
Information for submitters
The NSW State Government is exclusively responsible for notifying, and seeking and accepting feedback on, State Significant Development (SSD) applications.
All feedback on the relevant application should be made directly to the NSW Department of Housing, Planning and Infrastructure.
Proposed and determined SSD applications in the Ku-ring-gai Council area, including applications that have yet to be placed on exhibition, can be found on the NSW Planning Portal (State Significant Development).
Council is also notified of and invited to comment on, SSD applications at the exhibition stage.
