Civic and GM implements decisions made by the Mayor and Councillors, and is responsible for the day-to-day management of Council as a corporate organisation.
The department’s major functions include:

Department head
General Manager David Marshall
David was appointed GM of Ku-ring-gai Council in May 2024. He was previously Council’s Director Corporate and has extensive experience in local government with roles leading finance, governance, IT, people and culture, customer service, libraries, recreation and property. David holds an MBA, a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours), a Graduate Diploma in Accounting and is a Fellow of CPA Australia.
