Summer school holiday fun in Ku-ring-gai
Published on 05 January 2024
With activities ranging from comic book writing to barista training, Ku-ring-gai Council has the school holidays covered.
There’s still plenty of time to book in some fun with Council’s school holiday activities which are running for the rest of January.
Bookings are open now at the Council’s vacation care centres across Ku-ring-gai. Vacation care offers children arts & crafts, games, sports, excursions and educational experiences during the holidays.
At the Ku-ring-gai Wildflower Garden primary school aged children can learn bush survival skills, cook over a campfire and meet live native animals. There are also Nature Adventures Days on 12, 17 and 23 January featuring a bushwalk, tree ropes course and outdoor games. For the younger ones, Nature Play is running selected mornings where kids can go on a dino dig or go on a search for fairies and dragons.
Ku-ring-gai Art Centre is hosting a wide range of fun classes to explore, with everything from Manga portraiture to Egyptian inspired art sessions. There are full and half day options to choose from and Creative Kids Vouchers are welcome.
Ku-ring-gai libraries are hosting a comic book writing workshop, Alice in Wonderland craft sessions, Aussie book trivia and a Friday night pyjama storytime session with local author Ashling Kwok.
Council is also co-hosting a series of other fun sessions for teens and young adults, including a car maintenance workshop, skateboard building class, barista and job-ready workshop and surf lessons at Manly Beach.
