Public feedback is being sought on planned upgrades to the playgrounds at Comenarra playing fields and Mimosa Oval in Turramurra.

Residents can give feedback on how they currently use each playground and what they would like to see included in the upgrade.

Surveys are open until 8 September for both playgrounds in Turramurra.

The proposed upgrades are in line with the Council’s adopted Playspace Strategy, which means they will be designed to serve residents generally within walking distance.

The upgrades will provide improved access, better landscaping, new furniture and play equipment catering to a wider age range. Access to nature play will also be provided.

Nature play is defined as children using natural materials such as sticks and rocks to create playful situations.  Most new playground upgrades in Ku-ring-gai are now incorporating an area for nature play.

The planned playground upgrades in Turramurra reflect the area’s increasing population, with more families with young children moving in.

Designs for the new playgrounds will be developed and publicly exhibited by early 2024.

Mayor Jeff Pettett said survey results would help the Council’s landscape architects develop the designs.

“Recent playground upgrades have been guided by input from residents,” he said.

Go to krg.nsw.gov.au/yoursay to complete each survey by 5pm Friday 8 September.
