Ku-ring-gai youth set for an epic holiday season

School holiday planning just got a whole lot better with our exciting activities designed for Ku-ring-gai’s young people.

The holiday season is upon us once again, and this year’s list of workshops and classes is sure to excite our youngsters. From barista and job-ready workshops to car maintenance skills and skateboard build and ride sessions, there’s something for everyone.

Activities kick off on Tuesday 5 December with an urban art workshop where participants get the chance to create their own artwork, followed by some culinary delights at the cooking classes on Thursday 7 December.

January’s fun starts with all things coffee! The barista and job-ready workshop on Tuesday 9 January includes all the skills you’ll need to make a great espresso and milky art to top off your cup. After lunch, experts will showcase how to take your newly acquired skills and add them to your resume. You’ll also gets tips and tricks on how to impress during your first job interview.

From Thursday 11 January you can delve into proper car maintenance, learning how to keep your ride in good running order.

The following day on Friday 12 January the decks are out with the skateboard build and ride workshop where budding riders will learn the art of building, deconstructing, reassembling and maintaining their boards, followed by some riding sessions where the pros teach everything from board control right through to some ‘wicked’ tricks.

Battling it out in our ultimate water wars sessions on Friday 19 January is the perfect way to cool off from the summer heat and have a blast with friends.

Surf’s up on Tuesday 23 January with the let’s go surfing workshop. You’ll be transported to and from Manly Beach where experienced instructors will take you through all levels of surfing. No experience is required, just a willingness to get wet and have some fun.

Wednesday 24 and Thursday 25 January gives young people a chance to kick back with friends and make new ones at the St Ives Youth Hub drop ins. There are loads of activities ready on the day, including XBOX and pool.
