Ku-ring-gai open space upgrades completed

Ku-ring-gai community members are now able to enjoy two open space upgrades, including a new playground and resurfacing of a local oval.
Ku-ring-gai Council has completed the upgrades at Princes Park at Lindfield and Eldinhope Green in Wahroonga.
A range of improvements have been undertaken to Primula Oval, which sits within Princes Park. This has included:
- Laser levelling of the oval’s playing surface, making it more suitable for sports
- Improving drainage under the oval’s surface, to make the field more easily withstand wet weather
- Installing a new 120KL irrigation tank, which collects water from the new drainage system and then pumps this water into sprinklers to care for the playing field – delivering a sustainable approach to water usage
- New boundary fencing
The completion of this upgrade means the improved surface will now be able to be used by local teams during the summer cricket season.
The oval is also used for soccer during winter, and by the Metropolitan Mid Week Dog Training Club.
Meanwhile, the Eldinhope Green upgrade includes a fun new playground suitable for a broad range of child ages and abilities. It also includes accessibility improvements, including a concrete pathway, bubbler and seating which are suitable for people with mobility limitations.
Specific new playground features include a multi-functional slide, swing with baby seat, springer, a spinning climbing net and balance beam set within a mixed rubber and mulch softfall area.
Part of the playground also includes an informal seating area with sandstone blocks and stepping stones for natural play.
