There’s a lot to like about Ku-ring-gai Council’s low-cost fitness program, with new classes and activities costing as little as $12 a session.

Active Ku-ring-gai offers a range of outdoor fitness activities to residents in various locations across Ku-ring-gai.

Activities include social tennis, junior golf and yoga, as well as outdoor group training and special classes for new mothers and their babies.

An Active Ku-ring-gai membership costs just $12 a session, with walking groups free of charge. Walking groups are coordinated by the Heart Foundation in Killara, Wahroonga, Gordon and Turramurra.

This year Active Ku-ring-gai is offering two new classes – Tai Chi for beginners and the Bandfit program.

Bandfit is a 45-minute circuit style workout at Roseville Park that uses resistance bands as the main form of equipment. This program aims to increase general fitness, strength and mobility and is suitable for all ages.

Mayor Sam Ngai said bookings for the first term of Active Ku-ring-gai were now open to people of all ages and fitness levels.

“Active Ku-ring-gai gets you out of the house and socialising with others while getting fit, without spending a lot of money to do it.”
