Ku-ring-gai Council is offering local businesspeople a free course on marketing and selling.

The course is aimed at small to medium businesses which don’t have the resources to devote large amounts of time to marketing or business development.

It also aims to help local businesspeople achieve increased growth without resorting to pushy sales tactics.

The three-part course starting on 18 July will be presented by sales and business development specialist Maree Fitzpatrick.

Maree has a 15-year career in sales and negotiation, generating over $13 million for a variety of businesses. She has a special interest in structuring e-commerce processes for digital marketing success.

The course covers the following topics:

  • How to package your services or products to attract more purchasers
  • Developing a streamlined sales process that’s easy and clear
  • Creating a sales strategy and a well-defined plan for marketing and lead generation.

Mayor Jeff Pettett said local businesspeople should book early as places were limited.

“This is a great course for businesses that don’t have big budgets for marketing. To get the most out of it we recommend going to all three sessions,” he said.

Sessions will be held on 18 July, 25 July and 2 August at the Killara Hotel and Suites, 480 Pacific Highway, Killara between 10am and 12 noon, with morning tea served at each session.

To book go to krg.nsw.gov.au/whatson or contact the Council’s business coordinator on 9424 0000.
