Extreme fire danger warning and total fire ban - Thursday 19 September

An extreme fire danger warning and total fire ban is in place today Thursday 19 September for the Sydney area.

In Ku-ring-gai the following areas are closed:

Council bushland reserves.
Bushwalking tracks (except for parts of Solander Track - contact Ku-ring-gai Wildflower Garden Visitor Centre for details).
Fire trails.
Mountain bike tracks.

The Visitor Centre, Caley’s Pavilion, picnic areas and playgrounds at both Ku-ring-gai Wildflower Garden and St Ives Showground remain open.

Total fire ban means:

No fires may be lit or maintained in the open.
No hot works (eg welding, grinding etc.) may be carried out in the open.
The use of gas and electric barbecues is permitted, but only under strict conditions.
