Ku-ring-gai residents will be treated to live screenings of the Matildas round games in July and the World Cup Final in August

The live site screenings of the Matildas round matches will be shown at St Ives Village Green.

Under an agreement reached with FIFA and in partnership with local sporting clubs, the Council will host the screenings to the public free of charge.

The fixtures to be shown are:

Round 1 Thursday 20 July Australia v Ireland

Round 2 Thursday 27 July Australia v Nigeria

Round 3 Monday 31 July Australia v Canada

Food and drinks will be on sale at the live screenings starting from 6pm. All the round matches featuring the Matildas kick off at 8pm.

Before the games start, local sporting clubs will invite the public to take part in clinics and competitions.

Mayor Jeff Pettett said the Council’s live sites were a great way to get everyone in the spirit.

“This is the most exciting event for football lovers since the men’s World Cup last year”.

“We plan to screen the final on Sunday 20 August and other games may also be screened, assuming the Matildas reach the finals.”

The Mayor added that full details of the live sites are on the Council’s website at krg.nsw.gov.au/worldcup
