Christmas events in Ku-ring-gai

Ku-ring-gai Council and community organisations are gearing up for the festive season.

The Council’s Christmas tree has been installed at Gordon Library and the Mayor’s Christmas Appeal on behalf of Lifeline will be open for donations of gifts and non-perishable food items until Friday 6 December.

Items can be dropped off at the Council Chambers at 818 Pacific Highway Gordon or at any Ku-ring-gai library.

Festive events happening in December range from photography sessions with Santa at the Ku-ring-gai Wildflower Garden through to traditional carol services hosted by local churches and schools.

Between 4.30pm and 6pm on Friday 13 December young residents can learn how to put together and decorate a gingerbread house at St Ives community centre.

On Saturday 7 December Ku-ring-gai Wildflower Garden will host a native wreath making workshop and on 24 December, children are invited to the Garden for some special outdoor activities with a Christmas theme.

Bring the family to the Wildflower Garden for a unique photo with Santa; sessions are being held every weekend until 15 December and bookings are essential.

For those craving carols, there are several daytime and evening carol services being held at Pymble, Turramurra, Wahroonga, Roseville and Killara.

And for lovers of Hans Christian Anderson, the Snow Queen is being performed at St Ives Showground between 13 and 15 December. Bring a picnic and enjoy a unique rendition of this classic Christmas fairytale.
