All Ku-ring-gai primary schools participating in Ride2School Day on Friday 22 March will receive an assortment of fresh fruit for participants to enjoy. They will be delivered free of charge to your school.
National Ride2School Day is an annual event aimed at getting primary and high school students out of cars and using alternative ways to travel to and from school.
More than 350,000 students across Australia are expected to join in this year’s Ride2School Day by skating, riding bikes, using scooters or simply walking.
Mayor Sam Ngai said that Ride2School Day was not only great for Ku-ring-gai kids, but also for the environment.
“On National Ride2School Day 2023, over 360,000 students across Australia saved 29 tonnes of CO2 by actively travelling to school - the equivalent of planting 202 trees.”
“This is such a great initiative to showcase how keeping active and eating healthily can help children feel good, and it can also help reduce our daily greenhouse emissions.”
