Join the Ku-ring-gai Council's International Women's Day Forum on Economic Empowerment and Gender Equality.

The event, which will be held at Killara Golf Club on Wednesday 6 March 2024, aligns with the 2024 IWD theme: “Accelerating Gender Equality Through Economic Empowerment” and seeks to celebrate women's achievements and address challenges hindering their equal participation in the economy.

We are announcing two keynote speakers for the event. Chiou See Anderson, President of the National Council of Women, will share insights into the barriers hindering women's economic equality. Dr. Mihajla Gavin from the University of Technology Sydney will also contribute her expertise in education, work, employees, and gender.

The forum features a dynamic roundtable discussion where attendees can actively engage in exploring and contributing ideas. Topics will include overcoming structural barriers, addressing the carer economy and enhancing women's access to economic education. This interactive event encourages open dialogue to challenge the status quo and empower women at the local level.

Lunch will be provided, offering attendees the opportunity to network in a supportive environment. This event promises to be a unique platform for individuals and organizations to connect, collaborate, and foster meaningful discussions around economic empowerment and gender equality.
