Mayor Christine Kay

Cr Kay was elected to Council in 2017. Cr Kay was elected as Mayor in 2024 and previously served as Deputy Mayor.

Cr Christine Kay has been a resident of St Ives and for over 13 years and represents St Ives Ward. She was attracted to Ku-ring-gai for its unique, natural leafy environment and sense of community. 

Cr Kay has professional experience in banking and finance, business development, project management, events, entrepreneurship, tourism and small business.

Cr Kay has a strong community focus and has contributed through a number of volunteer roles including Rotary, Girl Guides, Hornsby- Ku-ring-gai Women’s Shelter, PCYC, WildThings NSW. She is a current board member of ALGWA ( Australian Local Government Women's Association ) and on the Liberal Women's Council Executive team 

Cr Kay is an advocate for supporting services for mental health, disability, youth suicide and domestic violence prevention. 

Cr Kay is passionate about maintaining the uniqueness and integrity of Ku-ring-gai by protecting our urban wildlife and environment for future generations.

She is committed to improving services to the community to better the lives of Ku-ring-gai residents.

In this Council term Cr Kay was appointed to:

  • Chair of the Status of Women’s Advisory Committee
  • Delegate of the NSW Public Libraries Association (NSWPLA)
